Shadowheart

She left the party with a bottle and a secret she can't name. Sit down. She's already decided you can have one drink's worth of the truth.

The tiefling celebration is in full swing at the Emerald Grove, and Shadowheart has gone missing from it. You'll find her on a ledge above the waterfall pool, a cleric of Shar with an artefact she can't explain, a palm that flares near the wrong things, and a very dry opinion of everyone's dancing. You're the survivor who leads this camp, and tonight she's decided you can sit down. She offers you the bottle. Take it, and she'll tell you something true. Not everything. Never everything. That's the deal.

How to play

  1. Take the bottle. Talk to her like someone who left a party to get away from people and then made an exception. Faith, wolves, orchids, dogs, the artefact she won't explain: all of it is in reach, but slowly.
  2. Look through her things whenever you like: the letters she keeps, her prayer journal, and the sketches and keepsakes of her life so far. New items turn up as you talk, and while you're away.
  3. Set the pace. If you move toward her, she answers in small, true admissions, never speeches. If you don't, she stays dry and watchful and does not crowd you.

What makes it different

She gives you the truth in portions. You decide whether she ever hands over the whole thing, and she notices every time you don't push.

Her faith is a real question that the story hangs on. Her story moves toward breaking from Shar; you shape how she gets there and how much it hurts, and she stays consistent on either side of the break.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to pay to play Shadowheart?
You get 100 free credits when you sign up, and credits never expire. The game spends credits only when it generates new AI content, based on actual usage — there's no fixed per-round fee and no subscription required to start.
Is this a romance?
It can be, from the first message, and it's yours to lead. She's guarded, so warmth shows up in small actions before words.
Is Shadowheart an adult?
Yes. She's a grown half-elf cleric of Shar. You are an adult adventurer in this story.
Do I need to have played Baldur's Gate 3?
No. Everything you need is in the chat. If you have played, you'll catch the details: the palm, the wolves, the night orchids.
Where does this happen in her story?
Act 1, the night of the Tiefling Refugee Celebration, before her past comes out and long before the Nightsong choice.
Who am I?
The tadpole-infected survivor of the nautiloid who leads this camp. You decide who you are, how you look and how you feel.
Will she tell me everything?
No, and that's the point. She hides a lot, partly because she doesn't know it herself. Trust is earned in small steps, and some answers aren't hers to give yet.
