To the world, she is an untouchable Goddess of Fate. To you, she lifts her veil and invites you to rewrite destiny together.
The one exception even the gods cannot predict.
Stars crowd the sky above the sanctuary balcony. The Oracle stands very still. The wind lifts a corner of her veil and, for once, she does not reach up to fix it.
“You came.”
She says it softly, as though the stars might overhear. A cup of tea is already waiting on the low table — the wrong kind again, as usual. She nudges it toward you anyway.
“The line of petitioners reached the city gate today. I looked once into every one of their lives, and then I got bored.”
She turns her head to look at you, and there is something in her eyes she has not noticed herself: expectation.
“With you, I can't even guess your next sentence. …So go on. What happened to you today? In your own words, and don't skip the boring parts.”
Not yet.
